About Gin Rummy

Gin Rummy is a two-player draw-and-discard duel about turning ten cards into sets and suited runs. Track what the opponent takes, reduce unmatched deadwood, and choose whether to knock early or keep drawing for gin.

Rules in brief

How to play Gin Rummy

  1. 01

On each turn, draw the top stock card or take the visible discard, then discard one card to return to ten.

  2. 02

Arrange cards into sets of the same rank and runs of consecutive cards in one suit; unmatched cards count as deadwood.

  3. 03

Knock when your deadwood is low enough, or make gin with none. Score the difference and race to 100 points.
