Arcade Noir is a free collection of browser games. We were built to be played, not to harvest data — so we collect as little as possible, never sell it, and run no advertising or cross-site tracking. This page explains exactly what we handle and why.
What we collect
There are only three things we touch:
- Account & login. If you choose to create an account, we store your username and a securely hashed password — or, if you sign in with Google, the basic account identifier Google returns. That's it. Playing as a guest needs no account and no personal details.
- Game progress. So you can pick up where you left off and (when logged in) carry games across devices, we save your in-progress games, your settings (theme, language, board size) and your game history and ratings. As a guest this stays in your own browser; logged in, it is stored on our server tied to your account.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. We use Cloudflare's privacy-first analytics to understand aggregate traffic — page views, rough region, referrers. It uses no cookies, does not fingerprint you, and never tracks you across other sites.
What we don't collect
No advertising identifiers, no third-party trackers, no marketing profiles, and no location beyond the coarse region Cloudflare infers from your IP address. We never sell or rent your data to anyone.
How we use it
Account and progress data is used only to run the games for you: to sign you in, to save and sync your progress and settings, and to keep your match history and rating. Analytics is used only in aggregate, to see what's popular and keep the site healthy.
Storage, retention & deletion
Guest data lives in your browser's local storage — clear your browser data and it's gone. Account data is stored on our servers for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your profile, which removes your stored account and progress data, and you can clear a game's saved progress in your browser whenever you like.
Cookies & local storage
We use a single session cookie (a signed token) to keep you logged in, and your browser's local storage to remember your settings and saved games. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Service providers
The site is served through Cloudflare (content delivery and the analytics above) and our hosting providers. If you sign in with Google, Google processes that sign-in under its own privacy policy. These providers process data only to deliver the service.
Children
Arcade Noir is a general-audience games site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and revise the date above.
