Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Arcade Noir is a free collection of browser games. We were built to be played, not to harvest data — so we collect as little as possible, never sell it, and run no advertising or cross-site tracking. This page explains exactly what we handle and why.

What we collect

We handle the following limited data:

  • Account & login. If you create an account, we store your username, an optional email address, and a securely hashed password. If you use Google, we receive and store the basic identifier and profile details Google returns, such as your email and name. Playing as a guest needs no account or personal details.
  • Game progress and preferences. We save in-progress game state (including that game's setup), history, and ratings. Synced account preferences include your theme, language, input choices, lobby filter, and any custom background you upload; the global board-size control stays on the device. Guest data stays in your browser, while signed-in data is also stored on our server for cross-device play.
  • Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics. When enabled, its cookieless, privacy-first beacon reports aggregate page views, approximate region, referrers, and Web Vitals. It does not fingerprint you or track you across other sites.
  • Optional Sentry error diagnostics. When enabled, Sentry receives an error message, stack trace, and page or request path so we can fix failures. We strip user identity, cookies, headers, request bodies, URL queries, and breadcrumbs; performance tracing, logs, and session replay are disabled.

What we don't collect

We collect no advertising identifiers, use no cross-site trackers, build no marketing profiles, and do not request precise location. Service providers necessarily receive basic connection data such as your IP address when delivering the service. We never sell or rent your data.

How we use it

Account and progress data is used to sign you in, save and sync your games and preferences, and maintain match history and ratings. Analytics is used only in aggregate to understand usage, and scrubbed error diagnostics are used to identify and fix failures.

Storage, retention & deletion

Guest data lives in your browser's local storage — clear your browser data and it's gone. Account data is stored on our servers for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your profile, which removes your stored account and progress data, and you can clear a game's saved progress in your browser whenever you like.

Cookies & local storage

We use a single session cookie (a signed token) to keep you logged in, and your browser's local storage to remember your settings and saved games. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the website and Railway hosts online game services. When configured, Cloudflare processes the aggregate analytics described above and Sentry processes scrubbed error diagnostics. If you sign in with Google, Google processes that sign-in under its own privacy policy. These providers process data only to deliver, protect, and maintain the service.

Children

Arcade Noir is a general-audience games site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and revise the date above.
