About Checkers

Checkers is a direct contest of tempo and traps on an 8×8 board. Arcade Noir enforces mandatory captures and continued multi-jumps, promotes pieces that reach the far rank, and preserves the exact position if you leave mid-game.

Rules in brief

How to play Checkers

  1. 01

Move a piece diagonally onto an empty dark square; when a capture is available, you must take it.

  2. 02

Jump over an adjacent enemy piece into the empty square beyond it, continuing with the same piece when another jump is available.

  3. 03

Reach the opposite edge to crown a king. Win by capturing every opposing piece or leaving the opponent with no legal move.

Arcade Noir validates legal actions inside the game and shows the controls for the current state. This short guide introduces the flow; the playable table remains the final rules authority.
