About Go
Go turns a simple placement rule into a deep contest over influence, life, and territory. Play compact 9×9, intermediate 13×13, or full 19×19 boards with captures, suicide prevention, simple ko, passing, resignation, and Chinese area scoring with komi.
Rules in brief
How to play Go
- 01
Black plays first; players alternate placing one stone on an empty grid intersection.
- 02
A connected group is captured when every adjacent liberty is occupied by the opponent. Simple ko prevents an immediate board repetition.
- 03
When both players pass, territory and surviving stones are scored. The higher total after komi wins.
Arcade Noir validates legal actions inside the game and shows the controls for the current state. This short guide introduces the flow; the playable table remains the final rules authority.
